One of my core values is giving back and supporting charities close to my heart.

1 in two people will receive a cancer diagnosis. Research has show that you are three times more likely to survive cancer if caught early but currently only half of people are actually diagnosed early. Our NHS needs help. We quite simply don’t have enough staff to diagnose an treat cancer. 1 in 10 diagnostics posts are vacant. The shoulder to Shoulder Campaign launched June 2018 calls on government to stand with the NHS and address staff  shortages.

We need to keep cancer on the political agenda. Research alone can’t make the change. We need investment in more staff, resources and public health awareness. The key to better outcomes is early diagnosis. More staff, better equipment and higher awareness is how we achieve that.

kirsty taylor, i campaign because…

Proud to not only support Cancer Research UK  fundraising through running events but I am very proud to be Campaigns Ambassador for the charity. I joined the ambassador programme as I recognised that research alone won’t help us beat cancer. Working with our MPs helps us really push for change and make cancer diagnosis a priority.
